Recent family

Recent family
I had the opportunity to work with another business owner and her family earlier this month. I did some shots for her business as well as some family shots for them. I thought I would post a few of my favorites of the kids.
I love this shot ... so cute ... I think this is Benji. They had 3 pugs, so it was hard to keep them all straight. But I believe it was Benji who was the camera hog - such a ham.
For most of the shoot, Allie was very serious and quiet, so I loved getting this shot of her great smile and laugh ...
During the family photos, I caught this shot of Zachary with Benji (of course)...
then the little guy headed out to Target to get some new Thomas the Train 'stuff ' - sometimes children need to be bribed.
So, I took Allie outside to get a couple of shot of her ...
their garage had this great 'old barn' feel to it with the peeling paint - which I totally dig. Adds a nice texture to an otherwise ordinary photo.
I had a great time with you guys, thanks for letting me invade your home for the morning!

Raven and Greg Part II

Raven and Greg ... part II
Ok, so you have seen 'some' photos from Raven and Greg's wedding, but today you get to see even more!
Yay!
These are a few of my favorites.
This next one I was going to shoot the dress alone from the doorway of the hotel ... and I did. BUT as I was shooting, Raven walked in, sat down and with no que from me, took a sip of her wine! She took my photo from 'good', to 'fantastic' and she didn't even know it! I even love the way the wine is backlit. Thanks, Raven!
Raven's hair needed a little touch up before she saw Greg for the first time ...
There is something about this next photograph that makes me keep looking. I'm not sure what it is, but whatever it is, it's working for me.
I like how Madeline came to check out her mom (and to show her how cute she looked in her winter cloak!) ...
and here is Greg looking very handsome and very 'GQ' ...
Raven looked AMAZING! She is another quiet beauty. She was one of the most relaxed brides I have ever worked with; beautiful inside and out.
Here they are seeing each other for the first time ... I like how the doorway frames them.
I love this portrait of the couple ... it is very timeless.
Yes, they were all freezing ... so we were VERY quick! Definitely worth it!
Ok, this next one made me laugh ... it was one of those shots that I didn't realize I had until I was going through them for editing. How funny is it that little Ava, covered her eyes when they kissed?? I love it!
I was playing with backlighting ... and I got this flare instead.
(Oh yeah, and I LOVE it)
I could have easily shown another 50 images in this blog post that were also my 'favorites', but I decided to keep it pared down.

Raven and Greg

Raven and Greg

Wow! I can't say enough good things about this couple and their families. They were so welcoming and made us feel right at home from the moment we arrived at the hotel. It was my first wedding of 2008 and I couldn't have asked for a better couple to start out my year. I am putting up a few picture puzzles for today. I'll post some individual photos tomorrow along with a slideshow. And without further ado ...

A few details from the wedding ...

the guys getting ready ...

the ceremony ...

a few reception pics ...
Raven and Greg - I truly enjoyed working with you and your families. Thank you so much for inviting into your lives for such an important event. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
And a big thank you goes out to Barb, who was my second photographer. You did a fantastic job and even managed to keep me in line!

Rose pomanders

I thought I would post a couple of pics from the wedding yesterday ... just two, so don't get too excited. I still have a long way to go before I am done. I loved these little rose covered pomanders that the flower girls carried down the aisle.

More Feb PDO pics

Ok ... more PDO pics ...
This time we have Todd, whom you have all seen before. He came out for some shots and although we really only did natural light stuff with him, he still came away with some neat images for his portfolio.
Here ... obviously window light, but I added a reflection - I think it is a nice touch.
Love these boots ...
Here I used the window light as backlighting (then, I had to process it in PS because I thought it looked so dang cool) ...
a silhouette shot ...
yes, I know this is out of focus, so before everyone emails me ... just know that I meant to do this. I was actually playing a bit with shapes ...
Oh ... Todd was here for our backlighting shots. Karen showed us how to use backlighting to wrap around the subjects ...
Todd, thank you so much for coming out. I know seeing me twice in one month is a lot for anyone - ha!
I really appreciate you helping us out! You did a great job.

DHR Music

DHR Music
I work with a company called DHR Music for their guitar photos. I have been working with them for a little while and I love it. They have some of the most amazing guitars I have ever seen. I haven't posted their photos before, but this last time, we got a little creative with some of the shots, so I thought I would share. If anyone is in the market (they specialize in archtop and left-handed guitars), I highly recommend them. The owners are amazing people who are absolutely fantastic to work with!
Check out their website here: DHR MUSIC
Here are a few of our shots ...

Mandy

Mandy
Our Feb PDO was great yet again! It was a very small group this month due to sickness, etc ... so we didn't stay quite as long as we did in Jan. We cut the day short and all went home to relax a little.
Here are a few of Mandy's images from our day ...
the first thing we worked on, was shadows...
I wanted to play with the shadows of Mandy's high heels ...
Here is Mandy at our one light portrait setup ...
And, last, here are a few of my natural light shots...
Mandy, thank you SO much for coming out an modeling for us. I couldn't have asked for a better model!
