Jamie and Matt: the wedding

Jamie and Matt: the wedding

Jamie and Matt were a referral from one of my favorite couples, Brittany and Jacob so I think it was safe to say that I knew I would love working with them! One of the bonuses of getting wedding referrals - you get more great couples!!
Here are some of the images from their day ...

Jamie and one of her bridesmaids looking at the seating chart for the reception ...

the gorgeous dress ....

and, of course, her fabulous shoes - can we say 5" heels???

Jamie running upstairs to get something ... love that her shirt has her maiden name on it ... her last day with that name!!!

getting her hair done by the amazing Brittany - who does hair for a lot of her sorority sisters on their wedding day

nails ...

I love the way the flower girl was looking at Jamie while she got her hair done ...

Jamie telling her mom something about the seating chart 'mishap' ...

Jamie did her own makeup ... sometimes if you want something done 'just the way you like it', you have to do it yourself :)
getting ready to put the veil on ...

getting the dress on ...

leaving for the ceremony ...

while the girls were getting ready, Karen was with the guys ... documenting how they spent their morning

Matt playing some darts ...

one of the groomsmen checking the scoreboard ...

a friendly game of cards ...

a little peek ...

wow ... those boys sure are thirsty ;)

when the girls arrived at the site for the ceremony .... Jamie and Matt had their 'first look'. I love the look on Jamie's face when she sees Matt for the first time that day!

and a quick kiss before we did some portraits of the couple ...

Jamie is such a beautiful girl ...

Matt's details ...

the handsome groom ...

they had some umbrellas set out for the guests in case of rain ...

guests arriving ...

here comes the bride ...

I love the way Matt smiled at Jamie during the ceremony ...

right after the kiss ... Jamie wipes the lipstick off of Matt's face - perfect moment!

a few more shots before they are introduced at the reception ...

at the reception ... they had a projector up that read 'Mr. and Mrs. Stockum' - while Jamie was leaning out looking at the guests ... I saw this shot ...

some toasts ...

their first dance ...

Jamie and Matt, I enjoyed every moment of working with both of you. Thank you so much for allowing me to be such a big part of your day! Congratulations and I wish you a lifetime of happiness!

Henry and Oliver: the spring session

Henry and Oliver: the spring session
I met Henry and Oliver for the first time this spring for their session. I had done some photos for their mom's friend awhile ago and she kept saying she really wanted some of her boys too! So, she finally made the call. I had such a good time chasing these two around their grandparent's yard. They definitely kept me on my toes!

Is this little face precious or what???

Curious George fruit snacks are the bestest ever!
love his tongue sticking out!

love this shot!

Boys, I definitely had a good time! Next year, same time????

Giddy Ink feature

Featured on Giddy Ink!!!
I am honored to be featured on Giddy Ink's blog this week! After reading the amazing things that they said about my work, I think they should write everything for me!
I love to write.
I've just never been as eloquent as I'd like to be.
Check out the post and while you are there, take a look around. I love seeing their new designs and am always inspired by them!!
Thank you, Giddy Ink, for such a wonderful tribute to what I do!

A few things ..

A few things I discovered this morning ....
1. I still hate matching socks when they come out of the dryer
2. I need to figure out a way to clone myself. Does anyone know of a good place in town? I've heard they've done it with sheep (which seems - at least in my mind - a good enough test to now start on humans).
3. I am not a hairdresser. I 'trimmed' my own bangs this morning ... because apparently finding time to get my hair cut is outside my realm of possibilities - at least right now. And while I am not planning on opening my own salon ... I thought I would give you my rates (just in case):
$1200 - dry haircut only (the fee will go toward your psychiatric evaluation - which you so obviously need if you call me for this service).

Chrissy and Jason: the wedding

Chrissy and Jason: the wedding

Chrissy and Jason were referred to me by another fabulous couple whose wedding I shot last year, Stacey and Chris. I was so excited after meeting with them because I knew we were going work so well together. As they sat and started to describe the type of day and ceremony that they wanted, I felt myself getting more and more excited about the possibility of working with them. When I got the call saying they wanted to book me, I did a happy dance :) Needless to say, it all lived up to my expectations and the day couldn't have gone any better. What a wonderful couple who I enjoyed working with every step of the way - onto the pictures and the slideshow!

The programs were a beautiful blend of greens and browns ...

the shoes ...

the beautiful vintage-style dress ...

Chrissy arriving at the hotel where I was photographing all of 'the pretties'.

seriously ... how cute is this one? Grace, you're a DOLL - even if they said you looked like an old lady with your rollers :)

showing the girls her handkerchief ...

they maid-of-honor getting her makeup on ...

Chrissy gets her makeup on ...

Chrissy's friend accidentally tripped over something in the room and tumbled ...

Chrissy decorated the reception hall with these wonderful words wall art ... I love the way the light hit it just right as she was centering it on the pillar ...

Chrissy checks her makeup on the way to the church ...

Barb hung out with Jason and the guys. They played cornhole ...

and had a barbeque ...

Jason played with the kids ...

before they had to get dressed for the wedding ...

gotta love a guy who knows how to tie a tie!

the guys getting their 'flair' ...

Chrissy getting into the dress ...

and a few portraits before the ceremony ...

the guys ...

dad welcoming people into the church ...

Jason waiting for the ceremony to start ...

here comes the bride!

love how the light looks like it is coming right down on them ...

the new Mr. and Mrs!

making it official ...

the reception site was McCormick and Schmick downtown ...

Don't worry ... no one was hurt during the making of this photograph :)

Jocelyn and Joey: the wedding

Jocelyn and Joey: the wedding

Jocelyn and Joey's wedding was absolutely amazing ... from the bride and groom to the details to the families and friends. I can honestly say that I was moved by the love shared between these two and their families. It was difficult to choose which images to put up since there were so many that were favorites, so I tried to choose images that really showed the emotion of the day. But first ... a few details ...

Jocelyn's 'pretties' ...

and, of course, a plug for Jocelyn's company, Zoe Custom Cosmetics :)

I love this shot of Jocelyn and Zoe sitting together getting their makeup all ready ...

before she did anything else, Jocelyn sat down and wrote Joey a note. Here she is getting a little emotional as she wrote ...
a shot of her putting her makeup on ...
Zoe getting ready ...

loved the light on this one ...
Zoe is such a beauty ... just like her mom ...
the girls have a laugh while Jocelyn gets her hair done ...
great moment between her and her dad when he came in ...

Zoe carrying the dress for her mom ...
putting her earrings on ...

her shoes had a great scallop detail ....
when the girls saw her all dressed, everyone got a little choked up ...

especially mom ...

Meanwhile, back at the ranch ... Barb was with the guys ...

This shot of Joey makes me smile ... we'll call it 'got denim'?

While Joey was pretty active ...

the rest of the guys spent some time recovering from the night before ...

getting dressed ...

Joey writes a note to Jocelyn ...

I took Jocelyn out for some quick portraits ...

which she nailed .... one after the other ...

and another portrait of Zoe ... loved this little room

the guys arrived at the church ....

and I did a few quick portraits of Joey looking handsome in his tux!

the guys entering the ceremony ...

Joceyln gets a kiss from dad before going down the aisle ...

it's so hard to pick a single favorite photo from a wedding ... but this next one has such a symbolism that it might be my favorite. Her father (who has been the man in her life since birth) has just handed his daughter over to her new husband (who will be with her for the rest of her life).

they did a ring exchange with Zoe ...

When Jocelyn and Joey left the church ... they drove off in this vintage 1953 Oldsmobile ... driven by the fabulous Ben :) and I was so honored that they wanted me to go along. One thing that I was struck by at this wedding, was how they wanted me with them even during intimate moments. They wanted everything captured and I LOVED it. My kind of people ...

Here we are driving away ...

we stopped along the river for some quick photos before we headed off ...

at the reception ... they had a silhouette artist ... who was the cutest woman EVER. She was also absolutely amazing at cutting out the silhouettes freehand ... I wished I could have put her in my pocket and taken her home with me ...

a toast ...

first dance ... version 1
first dance version 2

and since the silhouette theme was so prominent throughout their day ... I thought it only fitting to end with one ...
Jocelyn and Joey ... what can I say but thank you? I loved being with you and was welcomed by everyone. I wish you both a lifetime of happiness!
