Adelaide and Marc's wedding

Adelaide and Marc's wedding

We headed up to Louisville (pronounced LOO-UH-VUL and said all slurred together) on Friday to photograph Addie and Marc's welcome party at his parent's 'River House'. Adelaide and Marc had a casual yet sophisticated wedding and welcome party. And both days breathed of a warm summer night with friends and family. I tried to convey this feeling in my images.

Here we are at the river house on Saturday evening ...

the view from the patio ...
It filled up fast with friends and family from all over the US (and Japan) ...
And just to make sure all of the Cincinnati folks felt at home ... Addie and Marc brought one of their favorite flavors of Graeter's ice cream ...
This pretty much sums up the evening ... relaxed evening on the water ...
A few quick portraits before we called it a night and left everyone to party on without us ...
The next morning we headed to Addie's room to photograph her and the girls getting their hair done ...

Addie did her own makeup ...
I just liked this shot ... we were heading out to the care and she was standing waiting for the valet to get the keys to their car. I could sort of see her through the hinges on the door and in the reflection ... just an interesting shot ...
Addie stays back while the valet tries to fit all of their stuff into the car ...
We headed over to the ceremony site next where the girls got dressed ...
Here we have the gorgeous dress ...
the shoes ...
Addie getting her dress on and her mom helping her ...
and her sister helping her make sure everything looked perfect ...
the finishing touch was a flower in her hair ...
Karen was off photographing the guys at Marc's brother's house. Here are few of her shots ...
I love this one ...
getting the bowtie perfect ...
They had a cocktails set out before the ceremony started which included various mixed drinks as well as some pomegranite lemonade and champagne with blackberries - YUMMM!!!
oh ... yeah, and let's not forget the MINT JULEPS (I mean ... we WERE in Louisville)
They set out parasols to keep the sun off the guests during the ceremony ...
Marc seeing Adelaide for the first time that day ...
and Adelaide coming down to meet him ...
The kiss ...
and the new Mr. and Mrs!
walking out of the ceremony ...
a few portraits before heading to the reception ...
Addie's beautiful bouquet ...
Marc looking debonair ...
the cake ...
cutting the cake ...
for seating cards, they decided to use flowers with the cards attached. They had so many handmade touches at the wedding it really made it unique.
for example ...
and the centerpieces were mason-type jars with handmade table number cards on them ...
inside the favor bags were tea and different flavors of biscotti ...
I just loved this shot ... it kind of tells its own story. An almost empty water glass sitting in the hot sun and someone off in the background sitting at a table with a parasol blocking the harsh rays ... it just spoke to me.
It sprinkled for a moment during dessert and I loved how Addie's dad ran over with a parasol to try and keep her dry ... adorable!
Then the sun came back out and the music started ...
Some shots of their first dance ...
a dance with her father ...
a dance with his mother ...

And one last shot of the couple before we head back to Cincy ...

Adelaide and Marc, I wish you both a lifetime of happiness. I enjoyed your wedding as if I were a part of the family ... Thank you for allowing us to capture your special day!

Another thank you goes out to Karen for helping out and keeping me in line all day!
